3 mile run at The Greenway (29:39, 9:53 pace)

I did my first two miles in 10:14 and 10:01. Then my running buddy and her beagle kicked it into high gear for the last mile and I made myself keep up while wheezing behind them. Negative split time. Last mile was a 9:24. We’re back in business.

While my FIL was in town last week we made a couple of fun touristy stops in Nashville.

We checked out Antique Archeology in Marathon Village, a group of shops that occupy the old Marathon Motor Car buildings. Also in the area was Moonshine Nettie, a rockabilly vintage store, and The Old Time Pickin’ Parlor, a music lover’s paradise.nashville4nashville3nashville2aanashville6nashville5Then we stopped at the Frist for J and his dad to check out some cars. Pretty, but they all looked the same to me. Obviously I’m not a car person.nashville7

my baby sister turns 15

Lots of running. Some CrossFit. Potentially training for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Savannah Half or the Hard Rock Nashville Half on Nov. 9. Haven’t decided.

I’ve been MIA in MIA this week and it was awesome.
Last Thursday J and I boarded a jetplane to South Florida.quince9Our flight was easy breezy. The USO lounge at BNA was a welcome respite from air travel. It was pretty snazzy. I highly recommend you check it out.
We checked into the Westin Diplomat Thursday afternoon. quince8Our gorgeous beach view.beach1Spent some time with the fam.quince10And the main event…quince1My baby sister turned 15!quince3quince11A quinceanera is a celebration of a Hispanic girl’s fifteenth birthday. It marks her transition from childhood to womanhood.
Which makes me officially old.

first greenway run

4 mile run (44:01, 11:00 pace)greenway2This morning I met up with some ladies from run club for a four-miler at The Clarksville Greenway. The 4.6 mile paved trail runs along/over abandoned railroad tracks. It runs from Mary Oaks Drive to the Water Treatment Plant. We followed it to the left for a flat, easy run.
It started drizzling after the turnaround but we barely felt the rain because of the gorgeous tree canopy.
It’s almost like the rain waited just long enough for us to get to the parking lot and then all bets were off.
See you next time, Greenway. I’ll be back.
